First Night 2010
Silk Screen Asian Arts & Culture presented Asian showcase at First Night 2011. Audiences in the Cafe at the August Wilson Center enjoyed a whirlwind tour of Asian dance, martial arts and music. Participants inlcuded: Ruby Jain-Indian Bhangra & Traditional Dance, Organization of Chinese Americans Youth Ensemble, Win-Win Kung Fu & Cultural Center, Tadashi Kato and AppalaAsia.

"Silk Screen presented Rangoli- tradition Indian sand art. Colorful images of flowers, geometric shapes or free form images are made in front of home to celebrate holidays, weddings and special occasions."
"Silk Screen shared samples of Haiku-Japanese Poetry in simple 3 line, n0n-rhyming form, created to imply images or visions. Creating poems on cards which invoke the image of a beginning is one of the many traditions in for New Year celebrations in Japan."
